The Anglican Diocese of Bo was carved out of the then Diocese of Sierra Leone in Church of the Province of West Africa. A.D.B was carved out on 17th August 1981 and the pioneering Bishop. Late Rt. Revd. Dr. Michael M. Keili was consecrated and installed as the first Diocesan Bishop on 18th August, 1981.
The first succeeding Bishop to late Michael is, Retired Rt. Revd. Dr. Samuel S. Gbonda. He was consecrated in 1994 and retired on the 15th November, 2008.
The current and third Diocesan Bishop of ADB is the Rt. Revd. Emmanuel J.S. Tucker was consecrated on 26th October, 2008 and installed as the Diocesan Bishop on 16th November, 2008.
This Diocese is in full Communion with the world wide Anglican Communion.
A rural Diocese involved in holistic mission for the total, well-being of the people within the geographical location of the Diocese.
This requires the fulfillment of the churches pastoral, prophetic and priestly ministry to the people by the church as administrated by Christ in seeking both the physical and spiritual well-being of the people (Mark 6:30-44 and the great Commission)
